Fact-Checking Policy

Evidence checklist

This policy describes the checks expected when preparing or revising an article. It does not claim that every article in the archive has completed an expert review.

  • Trace the claim: Find the original paper, documentation, model card or announcement. Confirm that it supports the specific wording.
  • Check scope: Record the product version, publication date and relevant conditions. Do not generalize a benchmark beyond the task and setup it measured.
  • Separate evidence types: Attribute vendor statements. Describe a comparison based on documentation as such. Reserve testing claims for work with recorded methods and results.
  • Check quotations and numbers: Verify quotations against the original and numbers against their source. An AI-generated reference is not evidence until the source is located and checked.
  • State uncertainty: Identify missing information, conflicting evidence and limitations instead of filling gaps with guesses.

Requesting a correction

Use our contact page. Include the article URL, the passage in question, the proposed correction and a supporting source. Avoid sending confidential documents or personal information unrelated to the issue.

Recording revisions

A substantive correction should explain the change and its basis. Updating a page date alone must not imply that an entire article has been checked. These requirements support the site’s editorial standards; they are not a claim that every older page already meets them.
